Smarter capacity management
Champion measures the generator’s actual current on both power legs. During setup, the system learns the managed loads and their priorities. During an outage, it keeps checking available capacity and adds or sheds those loads as household demand changes.
Some frequency-based systems react after generator frequency drops and then use recovery delays. Champion manages from measured current, helping prevent overload before the system has to react to a low-frequency event.
50A module
For a typical 240-volt appliance, the module installs in line with the two hot conductors and ground. No separate control or communication cable is required—the signal travels over the home’s existing power wiring. The module’s neutral bar is not used for a standard 240-volt load; it is available when a 120-volt application requires it.
